Workshop: Student Exercises

Introduction

To access educational material developed via WLS, students must have the appropriate software and network conductivity on their own computers.

1. A World-Wide-Web (WWW) browser is necessary; such as:
   • Netscape Navigator
   • Microsoft Internet Explorer (asyncrhonous viewing only)
2. To receive the audio portions of presentations, a RealAudio 5.x player is required.

Exercises

1. Read the description of the WLS multimedia format and navigation controls.
2. Connect to
   • WLS Presentation at WebNet97
   • A video-lecture from a Fall 1997 class (CSC510)
   • A recent audio-lecture from an ongoing class (CSC402/ECE492C).
   • Or a lecture from another course.
3. Navigate through one or two Lectures, make sure you can play the sound and can navigate through the slides.
