Instructor Exercises

Introduction

The goal of this set of exercises is to develop material using WLS for an environment which has access to a web server and also a RealAudio server. The course material should already be in html format.

This set of exercises will step the user through two types of authoring.

  1. Delivering a lecture using the built in TEST slides. The steps are:
  2. Optional exercise using your own slides uploaded to the web server.

Exercises

  1. EXERCISE I

    1. Download the instructor (client) software for:
Windows 95/NT Client Software. or UNIX Client Software (SGI Irix Only).

    4. WLS can be setup to run in three different configurations:
The HTTP server, Real Audio Server and the User machine are all separate machines. WLS Configuration One
The HTTP server and the Real Audio Server are one machine and the User is using a separate machine. WLS Configuration Two
The HTTP server, Real Audio Server and the User machine are all the same machine. WLS Configuration Three
This exercise will be configured to run as follows:
      • Remote machine is the Web Server:   zagreb.csc.ncsu.edu
      • Remote machine is the RealAudio Server:  zagreb.csc.ncsu.edu
      • Local machine is the source of lecture material and audio encoding:   Machine you are using.
